We were here with an emergency surgery and spent a good while in the hospital and had many many many follow up visits!

Everyone was so nice and the facilities are wonderful. The art throughout was beautiful. The shops and restaurants are so good and the grounds are beautiful. There was plenty of room in his room and comfortable chairs and a bed for the parent to stay. There was a shower and bathroom that were nice in the private room. The hospital food was very good. Clowns came to the room and they had a library cart that came to the room as well. It was very clean and there were plenty of plugs available to charge phones everywhere.

Most importantly my son got top notch care from amazing doctors and medical professionals. They not only saved his life but they saved his hand and arm and with plastic surgery it looks and works just as good as new.

We are so grateful for all they did.

Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth is absolutely top-notch—five stars all the way. After moving from Austin, where we were accustomed to excellent healthcare, to a smaller town with more limited options, we were so thankful to find Cook’s. Their level of care, professionalism, and compassion is unmatched.

My daughter was born with a few medical issues, and the team at Cook’s has monitored everything closely since day one. Every concern we’ve brought to them has been handled with incredible attention to detail. The staff is warm, caring, and genuinely committed to making sure your child feels safe and comfortable. Even for a simple doctor’s visit, they go above and beyond, adding thoughtful touches like toys in the room and cartoons playing to make the experience less intimidating for kids. My daughter always looks forward to picking out a sticker at the end of her visit, which is just one more example of their thoughtful approach.

She has an upcoming surgery there, and while it’s naturally nerve-wracking as a parent, I feel completely at ease knowing she’s in the best, most capable hands. The specialists are incredible—some of the best I’ve seen in any hospital. Everything, from the thoughtfully designed decor to the welcoming staff and even the free parking for patients, is well-planned and executed to make families feel as comfortable as possible.

Cook’s truly understands what it means to care for children and their families. They’ve made a difficult process easier and have given me peace of mind as a parent. I can’t recommend them enough—they set the standard for pediatric care!

I didn't plan on being here overnight at all. They drs and nurses especially have been very caring on making sure I have what I need and making sure we are comfortable. But I was here with my 2 year old, we had a room and had to stay overnight, Jayden The young man that brought my kid food trays in the room, heard my baby crying Because I was going to leave to get something to eat for myself. He came back in and told me he would take care of me and told me to order on the phone to get a tray so I don't have to leave. It was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

All of the doctors took care of my baby so well. They were patient, kind, and did not give up until they knew my baby was better. Awesome staff!!

Brought my son to ER for severe stomach pain. Waited 6 hours and still wasn't called back. My mother inlaw was with me and asked the staff updates and they could only say we have 70 rooms and 5 providers. The staff started to taunt her and became very unprofessional. How do we have individuals working in the medical field with no compassion. Individuals that are supposed to treat and care for our children. Individuals we should trust to care for our babies. It's very very sad because this is the main source medical care for children in the area.

Horrible experience. Waited 4 hours for a room, an hour to see a nurse. Then ended up leaving because a doctor never came. Nobody listened to my babys lungs or nothing. Was told “there are 30 something kids before we can see her and she seems fine”.

The WORST children's hospital I have ever entered with the WORST nursing and medical personnel. Perhaps these people are clinically competent, although even that is debatable, but their efficiency and ability to communicate could not be worse. A staff person entered the NICU room of my grandson with no visible badge and no verbal acknowledgement of any kind and proceeded to push buttons on the baby's machine etc. She lean proceeded to walk right out of the room, again she hasn't uttered a single word at this point, with no acknowledgement of who she was or what she did. I had to confront her and ask her if she was a nurse before she turned around and I could actually see her badge. I do not know how these people pass joint commission but they should not! We were told by the nursing staff that the physicians "round whenever they choose and have time in their schedules". Excuse me? So medical staff apparently do not have any expectations of timeliness in rounding or writing notes. I am a healthcare provider and that would be a first for me! If your child is in this facility you should stay there and watch them like a hawk. Your child will not receive any real nursing care unless you are there to render it yourself. You will not be informed and if you press the point, you will be misinformed. Finally, the lactation consultants need to really work on their ability to instill trust in the people they work with. Breastfeeding is a very personal activity and I think trust is key. They are condescending and rude. If I would have had time, I would have demanded an audience with the director of nursing and chief of staff who are failing miserably at their jobs if these behaviors are tolerated. I hope our insurance does not pay them for anything other than the bare minimum because that is what our baby received in the way of care. Furthermore, according to the nurses he was a "low priority" NICU patient so I hope our insurance refuses to pay the NICU fees. If a baby doesn't need to be in a NICU then he shouldn't be just so this facility can charge for NICU care. NICU care for our baby consisted of him lying in a warmer alone most of the day with the nurse perusing in the room every 3-4 hours? According to them they were "so busy with their other babies". Then HIRE MORE NURSES or find someone who can competently identify staffing needs. Incompetence may apply here but COMPLACENCY is the word of the day. They are lazy, do not interact with parents to impart trust in their care, horrible communicators, and do not respond to feedback appropriately. Our baby will be getting moved TODAY to a better hospital.

Do not bring your baby here!!! My daughter took her 10 day old baby here for a fever. The doctor was incredibly rude to my daughter claiming that my daughter was lying about the fever because the baby didn’t have a fever at the time. Despite this they did a spinal tap on the baby, put in a catheter, and kept her overnight. When the baby would cry my daughter would hold her baby to comfort her. The nurse came in and chided my daughter for holding the baby and told her she was an irresponsible mother for not letting her baby simply scream & cry in the bassinet. They claimed that they’ve had 52 suffocation baby deaths from mothers holding their babies!! If that’s true, then this hospital needs to be investigated and shut down! Absolutely unbelievable! The worst children’s hospital I have ever had experience with!
